Share ChristServe CommunityGrow Disciples
Peace is an inviting, vibrant, growing congregation whose mission is rooted in scripture.
- Share Christ: As sisters and brothers in Christ, we develop relationships through regular and meaningful interaction with each other in worship, fellowship, and service.
- Serve Community: As servants, we model Christ’s love by serving and caring for one another, our community, and the world.
- Grow Disciples: As disciples, we create and maintain welcoming, comforting, and inspiring spaces for purposeful prayer, spirit-filled worship and interaction with one another and our community.
WE BELIEVE
- In the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- God the Father loves us so much that he sent his Son Jesus to be God with us.
- God the Son (Jesus) is our Lord and Savior who died and rose from the grave to grant us forgiveness for our sin and eternal life.
- God the Holy Spirit gives us our faith and helps us to trust in God’s love, mercy and grace.
Worship at Peace Lutheran Church
WILL I FIT IN?
Our worshipers include a wide range of young adults, young families, empty nesters, long-time members, visitors, lifelong Lutherans, those new to the faith or those who grew up in other denominations. There are worshipers who love to sing and those who hate to sing, worshipers with varying physical, emotional and mental abilities, some who dress up, and some who wear casual clothes…whoever you are, there is a place for you. You “fit in” simply by being YOU!
HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TO DO?
Our worship services can be followed using our bulletin, online bulletin, or our worship screens, making it easy to follow along and know where we are at in our worship service. We love for worshipers to join us in our liturgy (the work of the people gathered), so congregation responses are bolded in all our resources.
CAN I TAKE HOLY COMMUNION?
At Peace, we welcome all believers to join in the Lord’s Supper. It is at Christ’s table and in the meal, (Christ’s body and blood which are in, with, and under the bread and wine you receive), that we are invited, fed, nourished, and sustained in our faith.
WHAT ARE PEOPLE FILLING OUT?
At Peace, we ask that everyone fill out an “I worshiped today card.” This helps us to know if there are visitors among us, it allows worshipers to quickly update contact information, or it easily allows worshipers to let us know you want to attend a Bible study, activity, or need a pastoral conversation. Others are filling out a yellow envelope with offering to help support our congregation and community ministries as we live our mission to Share Christ, Serve Community and Grow Disciples.
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY CHILDREN?
We love to have children in our worship services, but we know it can be a challenge. Our ushers have additional resources (children’s bulletin, crayons, busy bags, and sensory fidgets) to help keep your children engaged in worship. Often our children are both listening and keeping busy. There is also a children’s message before the sermon that is designed just for them. A nursery is available on Sundays and is staffed with adults who have all passed a background check and safe sanctuary class.
As Lutheran Christians we believe that:
- We are saved by the grace of God – not by what we say or do.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) - Our words and actions are a response to God’s love for us.
- We are the hands and feet of Christ in the world loving, serving, and caring for others in Jesus’ name.
- Everyone is made in the image of God and is thus valued and welcome here.
