Each Christmas our Sunday Faith Formation classes take on a global service project – donating to our offering to purchase barnyard animals through the ELCA Good Gifts program.

In January, elementary Sunday Faith Formation children vote on which animal or animals we will purchase. The most popular choices in the past have been:

• $10 Ten chicks
• $20 Honeybee hive
• $30 Piglet
• $50 Goat
• $500 Cow

Why Barnyard animals you ask? Barnyard animals help stop hunger! These animals are an important source of food for many families. They also help people earn income needed to obtain the necessities for their families. Animals provide food to eat, fertilizer to grow crops, and offspring to sell at the market. Through your Gifts of Hope to God’s Global Barnyard, you will help break the cycle of hunger and poverty and inspire hope for families in desperate need.
