Food Packing Events

Peace Lutheran Church partners with Lesotho Nutrition Initiative (LNI) to host Food Packing Events. LNI originated as a small group of students and faculty from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio who were concerned about the severe stunting and childhood malnutrition in Lesotho, a landlocked country in South Africa that is only able to produce approximately ten percent of its own food.

Our events are organized in an assembly line style, with each line consisting of approximately 10 people who create NutriPlenty meals part-by-part. These meals contain supplements that not only help combat malnutrition but also help reverse the effects of malnutrition. Each bag feeds six people, and each box of meals holds 36 bags.

We have packed as many as 27,000 meals at just one event. We hold events in the Fall and Spring in our Fellowship Hall. We have invited local groups such as Beavercreek High School Air Force JROTC, Beavercreek Youth Council, Girl and Boy Scout troops to come and join us. Additionally, our members have asked their dance troops, sororities, and friends to join in the packing.

Come and make a difference as we follow Matthew 25 in feeding our neighbors around the world.
